Bilingualism at the English School Lyon
At the English School Lyon, bilingualism is at the heart of a project carried by the entire teaching staff and management. Their ambition: to build a warm, high-expectation, and future-oriented school where each student learns to communicate naturally in two languages and to understand the world around them.
Through daily immersion and English-speaking teachers, our students develop authentic language fluency, as well as cultural openness that stimulates curiosity, confidence, and a desire to learn.
This daily immersion allows our students, during their time at ESL, to fully immerse themselves in the English language and Anglo-Saxon culture through school trips to Ireland or the United Kingdom (Grades 4 and 5).
Our team and community together carry a broader project: to grow the English School Lyon, enrich its educational offerings, and ultimately expand this model of a caring and ambitious bilingual school to other institutions.
