Every child is unique, capable, and trustworthy

At the English School Lyon (ESL), each child is welcomed with high expectations and kindness. We provide a clear, consistent, and reassuring framework while allowing room for initiative, constructive mistakes, and experimentation.

Our pedagogy aims to foster confidence, the joy of learning, and autonomy.

Bilingualism and cultural openness

Bilingualism is at the heart of our project. Each class is supervised by a French-speaking teacher and an English-speaking teacher, who cooperate on a daily basis.

Children learn in a consistent and reassuring immersion, where they develop strong language skills and lasting cultural openness.

General knowledge and environmental awareness

We provide a rich, humanistic general knowledge grounded in reality. Children explore the major themes of the world: arts, nature, history, science, current events…

They develop environmental awareness, the ability to reason, debate, take care of their surroundings, and get involved.

Sports, Arts, and Human Skills

Sports, team games, motor skills, arts, and bodily expression are an integral part of our project.

These sessions allow children to discover themselves in new ways, develop their team spirit, listening skills, emotional management, and perseverance.

We support them to grow together, with respect and solidarity.

Holiday Camp

During school holidays, ESL offers playful programs with 50% English. Open to all children aged 3 to 11, ESL provides a variety of activities in a caring and immersive environment: art, theater, nature, sports… to learn English differently and have fun while doing so.
