History of the school

Welcome to English School Lyon (ESL), a bilingual French–English school located in the heart of Marcy-l’Étoile.

From preschool to Grade 5, we offer a demanding, caring, and forward-looking educational environment.
At ESL, every child is welcomed as they are: curious, unique, full of potential.

We believe that school should be a place of joy, respect, and discovery, where children learn to grow together through two languages, two cultures, and the same high standards.

Our pedagogy is based on active and differentiated methods, adapted to each age and stage of development. Our teachers, all native or perfectly bilingual in English instruction, work in pairs with a French teacher in every class to ensure constant linguistic immersion.
