How to Support English Learning at Home

Parents play a crucial role in their child’s learning, even if they do not speak English themselves. Educational research shows that parental encouragement, interest in school and positive routines at home are strongly linked to better academic outcomes and motivation.

Supporting English at home does not mean replicating lessons. Instead, it can be as simple as listening to a short song in English together, reading a picture book, or using a few words and expressions in daily life. What matters most is the message: “I am interested in what you are learning; I believe you can do it.”

At ESL, we offer families simple ideas, age-appropriate resources and practical tips to help them feel confident in their supporting role. When school and home work in the same direction, children feel more secure and engaged in their learning.

  • Read simple English books
    • Listen to English songs
    • Add English into daily life
    • Celebrate progress
